Rev. Charles D. Miller is the third of five children born to the late Rev. & Mrs. James A. Miller on February 16, 1940. At an early age, he confessed Christ and was baptized at the Millsprings Baptist Church in Weir, MS. He later joined New Hope Grove MB Church, in Ridgeland, MS, under the leadership of Rev. Carl Thomas. In 1981 God called him into the ministry. Pastor Miller was called to pastor New Hope Grove in 1983. In 1997, the Lord guided the pastor's vision and the New Birth Fellowship MB Church was born. He has been the faithful pastor for 34 years. As of now there are over 25 different ministries and growing. EDUCATION/AFFILIATIONS Pastor Miller received his primary education in the Ackerman Public Schools System in Mississippi. He has attended Hinds Jr. College, Jackson College of Ministries, MS Baptist Seminary. He received the Pastor's Alternative for Teaching Certification through the National Baptist Sunday School Publishing Board. He proudly earned his Doctorate of Divinity from McKinley Theological Seminary. Rev. Miller is a member of the National Baptist Convention USA, and the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, Inc., where he serves on the Board of Directors. He served as the First Vice Moderator for the Hope Springs District Association for 8 years. He served as the Moderator of the Counties of MS Baptist District Association (COMBDA) for six years. He led an International Mission Africa Team, which ministers in Lilongwe, Malawi and surrounding areas. He also serves as the Head Chaplain for Precinct 4 in Jackson, MS. He now serves the Metropolitan Ministerial Fellowship as President.
COMMUNITY Pastor Miller humbly serves on the executive committee for Working Together Jackson, which is a community organization to help Jackson and the surrounding areas. He is also a member of Mississippi Alliance For Fairness At Nissan (MAFFAN).
During his ministry, he has served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He has been a member of United Christian Institute, Rocky Hill Women's Institute, former President of Minister's for Adoption-Mississippi Children's Home.
Awards: awarded the E.W. Banks, Sr. Humanitarian Award in 1992, an honored member of the Heritage Registry of Who's Who from 2006-2007, and the Rev. Dr. S.L. Spann Award in 2007, just to name a few. Rev. Miller has been married for 50 years to Mrs. Easter R. Miller and to their union they have six daughters: Martha, Rose Marie, Sandra Dee, Charlene, Elizabeth Ann and Cynthia Delaine.
